SkillsUSA Technology Team Obtains Many Awards and Places 3rd in State.

For the first time ever, Vanguard Academy had representation in the national CTE student organization, SkillsUSA. This organization hosts competitions in all of the CTE career clusters and occupations with participants all over the region, state, and nation. Our students participated in: robotics urban search and rescue, computer programming, and internetworking Cisco.
 
Robotics Urban Search and Rescue: Team of Eduardo Cabrera, Ian Riojas, Mark Latigo 1st place.
 
This competition consists of building an 18"x18"x18" robot that is remotely controlled and viewed via wireless camera to simulate infiltrating a compound and removing hazards.
 
Internetworking: 1st place Amadeus Duteramine, 2nd Place Jared de la Cerda, 3rd place Kevin Hernandez.
 
Cisco Internetworking consists of advanced knowledge and skills in the field of computer networking using Cisco devices, protocols, and commands. These students used hands on knowledge to configure and troubleshoot a networking issue for a simulated company.  Cisco is the world wide leader in connectivity and networking.
 
Computer Programming: Amadeus Duteramine 2nd place, Scarlett Quintana 3rd place, Gabrielle Pamintuan 4th place.
 
Students in this competition are tasked to create a program that will perfom a specific task using the C language.
 
Our very own Amadeus Duteramine placed 3rd in the Computer Programming State Competition and earned a bronze medal!!!
